Every week I'm reading about negative actions that seem to be fueled by politics, whether it be fueled by a dislike of Trump or some Republican (they are mostly in power now in the Federal government_ weaponizing the justice system against Dems.

America will not survive such divisions, imo. I'd like to think the way to fix it is not to get rid of politics per say, but rather to get rid of the partisanship and hate involved. I'd like to see it to where people don't demonize or look down on someone for being in a political party. Also, would like to see it get to a point where political disagreements don't turn nasty.

Perhaps the only way to save this is to have an Independent step in and highlight the consequences of partisan parties, do term limits for Congress, have accountability and consequences for 80-20 policies that aren't passed (immigration reform???), etc. Really, make all branches of government, including SCOTUS and others subject to elections.

Politics tends to be more about party than principle. A lot of actions in politics and government (and sadly it's trickling down even to judicial branch with judges with political leanings and even lower levels than that) tends to stem from party and not principle.

The evidence from this tends to be the selective and hypocritical actions that come from both parties which is why I dislike political parties.
