Sometimes I ask why he got to be so special out of all of the other Messianic figures of that time just in his region. Of course there are other influential spiritual people of other religions, like Buddha.
Because Jesus is God, wrapped in human flesh. Many claimed to be the Messiah, but Jesus proved He was the Messiah. Buddha, Muhammad, and other religious leaders were merely humans who died and stayed dead. Jesus died but arose on the third day to prove His divinity. And He did that because He loved us. That’s what makes Jesus Christ so special.

You are more than entitled to believe whatever you want to believe, but this verse says nothing about keep trying even in difficult circumstances. It does not refer to being discouraged and/or quitting nor does it suggest you will later find yourself encouraged. This verse absolutely does not promote anyone to use their own wisdom and life experiences to try in new and promising ways. Every bit of what you have suggested is a creation of your own imagination. Again, feel free to believe your own fantasies if you choose, but this is contrary to what Jesus was teaching in this verse.
As an agnostic and as a “some truth in every religion” type of person . . .

I think a person can pull good parts from most every religion . . . keep trying. And not necessarily to try “harder.” For example, with college calculus, sometimes a person needs to try less hard, but try in a diagonal fashion!

Jesus was very human.

Or perhaps he's that meant to be unique and that there's more than one highly evolved (spiritual-wise) beings out there?
Perhaps Jesus and Buddha were “woke” — to use a highly-charged political term! :p

embracing the day, the good, the bad and the merely weird ? ! ?

and viewing themselves as 100% caught up, even though of course they will problems just like everyone else ! ? !

maybe, yeah . .

something like this.

Yes, this is an excellent zinger!

Buddha and Muhammad are still in the ground. Whereas Jesus is risen.

at least according to Galatians written 15 years later. Or, the Gospel of Mark written 40 years later.

And yes, it continues to surprise me that most all the letters of Paul were written before the Gospels.

Why does that surprise you? Paul’s letters were for the purpose of encouraging believers as well as correcting errors in the church.

And yes, I rejoice that the tomb of Jesus is empty. The fact that neither Mohammed nor Buddha could help themselves after death is an indication they can’t help anyone.

You could be right on that. I think the Pharisees were like the Conservatives. Jesus did tick them off to the point that they tried to harm him multiple times until they finally were able to get those on his inner circle to betray him.

If anything, Jesus' resurrection would give others hope that they will also resurrect. At least I can see the relevance of the resurrection on that point, while I don't accept that it proves that Jesus was God.

Belief is a choice and apparently you, along with the majority of people, refuse to believe. For those who choose not to believe, no amount of evidence will ever convince them.
