forgiveness of sins
I guess back in 25 AD, people in Israel were living in close-quarter fishing, farming, herding villagers. Including with family members who could drive you nuts at time, and resentments could build up. So back then, yeah, “forgiveness” was a big deal.

If a religion would develop today, maybe loneliness would be the main focus.

What belief system offers forgiveness of sins and eternity with God in Heaven freely?
Doesn’t sound so “freely” to me.

Don’t you yourself believe that the vast majority of human beings alive today are “unsaved,” and therefore will go to hell not heaven?
Unfortunately, I believe this is true. However, every person has the opportunity to enter Heaven if they want. That vast majority you refer to refuse to trust in Jesus. They choose not to.

Forgiveness of sins is a big deal today. While it is important to seek forgiveness from others we have offended, it is even more important to seek forgiveness from God. Every sin we commit is an insult to our Creator. Christianity offers that forgiveness when we trust in the person and work of Jesus Christ. I know of no other religion that offers the free pardon of sin.
