I know that Biden had a bad debate performance. I thought people would forget and get over it, but the effort to get Biden to drop.out of race is intensifying ... Maybe there are other reasons, as well

CNN — Rep. Adam Schiff on Wednesday became the most prominent elected Democrat to publicly call on President Joe Biden to drop out of the race.

Seems like it's a concerted effort by the media and some Democrats.

Why is there such a big push for Biden to drop out of the race?

To me, the substance, I’m not confident he’s going to be a good president for the next 4 and a half years.

The media wants good copy, and that’s fine to an extent.

CNN is reporting from sources that Nancy Pelosi has also told Biden to end his presidential campaign. Here's why:

CNN — Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi privately told President Joe Biden in a recent conversation that polling shows that the president cannot defeat Donald Trump and that Biden could destroy Democrats’ chances of winning the House in November if he continues seeking a second term, according to four sources briefed on the call.
[emphasis added]

I think that part in bold font is an even more important point for Biden to get out of the race than just Biden's race for a second term. It's one thing losing the presidency, but it would be worse if Biden caused the Democrats to lose even the House.

The electoral college might be one factor that Nancy Pelosi has in mind. Check out this CNN analysis on Trump vs. Biden, electoral college hypothetical:

Sunday afternoon is a great time.

Everything starts tomorrow Monday at 9 am —at least it does for me! :p

I think Biden made a smart decision by naming a replacement. Kamala and Cali gov. Newsom? They can all think about that starting Monday.

I swear, I saw this coming:
Director and activist Michael Moore argued Monday that it would be in the best interest of Vice President Harris’s campaign for President Biden to resign, leaving her the Oval Office.

Kamala Harris will be in a much stronger position to win if she can run as the President of the United States. As the incumbent President,” Moore wrote. “This will give the country a chance to see her in action — as the most powerful person in the world. She will have three and a half months (as they say, ‘an eternity in politics’) to show the American people her smarts, her strengths, her heart.”

Republicans in Congress have latched onto demands for Biden to resign from office in recent days, claiming that if he’s in no shape to run for reelection, then he can’t lead the country. Biden has made clear he will finish his term.

And I think that's a very terrible. It will take away from her time campaigning and focusing on Trump. Plus, if she's screws up while in office, then the opposite effect will happen where people may use that to judge that she'd be bad as a president. Plus, I think there's a slim chance that Biden would resign from the presidency unless there was some big problem.

I believe there are two reasons Biden was forced out. First he is incapable of serving as president. He was not charged for having classified documents because the prosecutor said Biden could not stand trial because he could not remember key details. If he can’t stand trial, he shouldn’t be president. The Democrats have been lying for months about Biden’s mental state.

The second reason the Dems staged a coup against Biden is because they knew Trump would soundly trump him at the polls in November. Almost every political expert said Biden couldn’t win a second term.
