@AgnosticBoy , mystery to me why your excellent site hasn’t gained more members. Large element of trending and luck! Now, you could play dirty and play off the “drug of outrage,” which is more popular than even porn! I mean, go figure. Could try to become “go to” source for relatively...

In John chapter 20, Jesus says, “As the Father has sent me..” and delegates forgiveness of sins to his disciplines? Apparently so.

This type of Christian person still takes the Bible seriously. The phrase was “inspired, not literal.”

Jesus was the originator of the ideas and the new message. Paul was the transmitter of the ideas. Jesus obviously, but also Paul, were far more important than either Peter or James. After all, Paul wrote 7 books of the New Testament, and some Christians think more.

I urge you to try to take this down a notch. :) Most Catholics in richer countries pick-and-choose which doctrines they take more or less seriously. And most human beings have learned to take religion medium seriously, no more. And in poorer countries, well, these days low-income persons have...

and I’m not sure someone should judge whether someone else has truly repented vs backsliding * I guess the very fact that I write”truly repented,” I’m kind of setting up to later say “not good enough” ! ! ! there’s some mistake here somewhere

I don’t want a line of reasoning to depend on Jesus making a pun. Plus, Jesus says, “And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” (verse 19)...
